Synopsis

Nathan Chapelis an obsessive artist and creator of the comic book series Azrael. Oncompleting the 36th and final installment, his masterpiece, Nathan attemptssuicide and fails. In therapy he meets Sarah and finds new meaning in life andinspiration for his art. When people around him start dying mysteriously Nathanmust search for clues to save Sarah. Detectives have also started gatheringevidence in their case against him. When one of them dies his partner Grishamraces to capture Nathan with Issue 36 as the evidence he needs to convictNathan. Nathan himself is trying to save Sarah from the evil he has created andmust evade capture long enough to set her free.

 


Funding:
Waterloo Finance has agreed to cashflow the production, secured by:
Australian Producer Offset (32% in this case)
30% in either Equity or Pre Sales, towards this we have Film Vic 4% of Vic spend (approx 2.5%)

Post Production equity returned as funds for a distributor.

Lightning Entertainment has offered to handle international sales.

Project Notes: Following on from the success of the short film on  the international festival circuit Maddfilms has been working with  writer-director Marc Furmie on a feature film based on the characters  from the short.  The growth in scale has drawn new partnerships with experienced  practitioner Michael Cowan of Spice Factory UK and has a  Letter of Intent from Waterloo Finance to cash flow production on the  meeting of certain criteria.  Maddfilms is working with Maura Fay Casting to engage the right performers to bring this compelling script  to screen.

Top Australian Heads of Department are beginning work to realise the  vision created.  Amongst them are  Designer George Liddle, Sound Designer Peter  Miller and the award winning Director of Photography from the short  film, Carl Robertson ACS.  This team is working with Tim Maddocks of Maddfilms and Simon Ritch who produces with Marc at Film Graphics who recently created the Short film Dark Horse - winner of Best Short at the 2010 Byron Bay International Film Festival.

 

The Dead Sea

Synopsis

What starts out as a dream come true tropical adventure for a group of friends rapidly descends into a life or death struggle for survival in the lawless South China Sea as pirates attack and wreak havoc. Soon father is pitted against son in a sadistic game of kill or be killed. Each man must journey to the primal depths of his humanity to survive.

Synopsis
Seven students set out to save their favourite surf spot from corrupt  developers.  Once on site they discover why the workers have left - a  creature is there protecting its habitat the only way it knows how - by  killing all intruders!
