A remote beach lures eight students to trespass private bush land and break into an abandoned cabin. Responsible Ashley, Ash, is worried, but dismissed by leader Rick. After a day of surfing, the group settle into the cabin for the night. When the American, Ellise, is humiliated by local jokes, she storms outside to be alone. Stoners Chad and Mark realise they forgot their munchies, and take the only vehicle for a two hour drive into town. Their drug habit and silly games delay them indefinitely.

Ellise is stalked as she indulges in a moonlit skinny dip. It’s suave surfer Brandon, who tries to seduce her. They argue and Brandon storms back to the cabin. As the group party, Ellise is chased through the bush, caught in a steel trap, and slaughtered. Still uneasy, Ashley takes a bath to relax. Seductress Jasmine shows her true feelings for long time friend Brandon, luring him into the bush to make love. Virgin Kristy is murdered as boyfriend Rick is in the cellar, finding clues about the menace. Discovering Kristy’s body, Rick is brutally attacked until finally knocked unconscious. Thinking him dead, the killer retreats.

Dazed and terrified, Rick heroically sets out to save his friends. He nearly kills Ashley in a bungled attempt to protect her, but he takes control and they narrowly escape a violent confrontation with PSYCLOPS: an ancient one-eyed hatchet wielding monster. Unique and endangered, Psyclops seeks a breeding female after his partner was trapped and killed by a biologist, the last occupant of the cabin. Cunning and brutal, he is four feet tall with triple the power and aggression of the most ferocious Pitbull. Highly territorial, he will fight any male in his way.

Jasmine confronts Brandon about a past he wants to forget. Angered, he leaves, found by Rick and Ash. When Jasmine screams, Brandon runs to help. He finds Ellise’s mutilated body and the others convince him Jasmine must also be dead. But she’s alive, horrendously tortured in Psyclops’ underground lair. As Rick and Ash fortify the cabin, Brandon goes back. He finds and rescues Jasmine, then goes on the attack. Psyclops defeats him and goes after Jasmine, but Brandon was only knocked out. Heavily injured, he drags himself to the cabin. His arrival breaches the fortification, letting Psyclops get in. The group are thrust into a ferocious blood soaked battle that only Rick and Ashley survive. Badly wounded, Rick lures Psyclops into a trap. He martyrs himself for Ashley, igniting leaking gas tanks and blowing up the cabin.

Psyclops survives the explosion, his skin thick like tough leather. He chases Ashley through the bush, and as they cross a dirt road, the stoners finally return. The van slams into Psyclops and crashes. Taking no more risks, Psyclops brutally slaughters Chad, and then Mark. Again, Ashley runs. Her path ends abruptly at the top of a sea cliff where she has no choice but to fight, drawing on strength only a struggle for life can provide. The intense battle takes her to the mental and physical edge. Ashley tires, but refuses to give up until finally, she is completely defeated. His victim subdued, Psyclops drags Ashley into his lair…
