“How deep will you sink to survive?”
After a lifetime at sea Terry uses one last yacht delivery to reconnect with his son. But this dream voyage becomes a tropical nightmare when they discover they’ve become unwitting drug smugglers tasked with running the gauntlet through the deadly Straits of Malacca. Faced with the death penalty in every port they must sail on until confronted by modern day pirates, with a clash of cultures that becomes a life and death struggle to survive.
Based on true encounters with pirates The Dead Sea is an unforgettable story ripped out of the headlines, brutal and unflinching. First world luxury collides head on with third world poverty.
Set in the islands of Indonesia (Bali, Suluwesi), Thailand, the Philippines (Palawan, Cebu), or The Maldives, this unforgettable journey takes us from an idyllic tropical paradise surrounded by crystal blue waters, to murderous jungles. There’s a myriad of location options in the region that can offer production and logistics support as well as unforgettable surroundings and consistent weather.
